Aerial Video Technology (AVT) offers many advantages to home buyers. It saves time. It eliminates the potential for damage to the gutters from an inspector’s ladder. It allows a more thorough roof inspection of dormers, cupolas, gutters, ridgelines and other hard to access areas of the roof. In addition, it allows inspection of a wet or icy roof, roofs with a steep pitch and roofs covered with tile, slate or other materials that inhibit a physical inspection.
In addition, the AVT sends a live feed to a Bluetooth enabled device via secure network and allows the inspector to record problems and share results with customers in real time. |
Easier
Inspecting these installations can be difficult to do. There are areas that cannot be easily and quickly accessed by a person, but it’s no trick for a drone to get to them. You can see these spots up close without having to use addition equipment or personnel.

Faster
Since the work has become easier, it has also become more quickly accomplished. Aerial inspections with drones are typically carried out in fewer hours or days than usual.

Safer
Without a doubt, inspecting with drones is far safer than sending people out to do it, especially when heights and possibly weakened structures are involved (such as the photo to the right). Safety may also refer to the integrity of an installation. For instance, having people step on roofs may compromise the integrity of the components involved. This is not a problem when using drones
